When/Where:
July 27-29, 2012
Red River Gorge, Kentucky
To register, contact: Red River Outdoors, 859-230-3567 or by email at redriveroutdoors@gmail.com
Investment: $429
Max number: 6 participants
-
Instructor: The Rock Warrior’s Way author, Arno Ilgner
-
LIMITED OPPORTUNITY: This is the only time this year to take advantage of this training.
-
Camp description: This camp addresses fear of falling and improving commitment. We’ll do
falling, movement, and resting exercises and apply all learned skills to challenging routes. We’ll
do this in small increments creating appropriate progressions for each individual student. You’ll
leave with a structured method for taking appropriate risks with diminished fear.
-
You’ll learn:
• To fall safely
• To give a cushioned belay
• To distinguish between no- and yes-fall zones
• How to engage no- and yes-fall zones
• To break a climb into smaller risk events
• Better risk assessment
• How to rest effectively
• To improve breathing
• To trust the body
• To create flow and momentum
• To commit more deliberately
• To reduce fear
-
Target Student
• Prerequisites: Climbers who have been climbing at least 6 months consistently, and know
their knots, basic belaying, and movement skills. Students should be able to climb a minimum
of 5.8 in the gym without falling. Being able to lead climb is not required.
• Medium: For climbers who rope climb. Most exercises are on toprope. The instructor will
determine which students can lead based on our risk matrix.
• Student goals: Desire to improve commitment or overcome fear of falling.
-
Equipment Needed:
• Harness, shoes, belay device, and a helmet (if you want to wear one).

For lodging arrangements please contact Red River Outdoors at 859-230-3567 or redriveroutdoors@gmail.com . If you book a cabin with this clinic you will receive a 10% discount on lodging.

Full payment of course tuition is recommended, if you cannot pay in full , a 50% deposit is required. You will receive cancellation policies with confirmation email and information.
